Quote :Kevin Eason ‏@easonF1 12s Ricciardo disqualified from #AustralianGP. Glad I am leaving tomorrow

EDIT: Red Bull are going to appeal the descision. I suposse it's not a F1 race unless there's a decision which needs to be made in Paris.

Although still early doors, there are a few things that jump out at the moment

1. Alsonso seems to be getting more out of the Ferrari than Kimi is, although Domenicali claims that Kimi had an issue with his car, they would not define what that issue was.

2. Renault teams still having issues. Lotus and Caterham got very limited running while the Torro Rosso's and Red Bulls got some decent stints going, however Vettel still had to cut short his first session run due to over heating concerns. It's not that big a surprise to see Red Bull back near the top (even if the fastest laps were still 3/4's of a second behind the Mercs) since they would have commanded the most time with Renaults top guys and any hints would have been passed 'accidentally' to their sister team. This was also the first time that the Renault engine was run at 'Full Power' which would also account for the improved time in the Red Bull.

3. That Williams Livery - Is this what love feels like?

Also anyone know of a good website which would give stats on how many laps driver completed, consecutive laps, timing etc? I would like to see what exactly the Red Bull ran compared to the Mercs/Ferrari/Mclaren.

Quote from Boris Lozac :If i understood right, Breaking Bad was never shown in UK (legally)

I think the first and second seasons where shown on the digital freeview channel '5 US' but was shown at a stupid time on a Thursay or something like that and was dropped soon after. It took a while after that before BB it became the main thing to watch.

Let's remind ourselves how things can go so very wrong sometimes. A mega, multi shot of one of craziest F1 starts in years.

reminds me of 1 of my favorite gifs

Absolutely over the moon that Bjoerndalen won Gold, when I first got access to Eurosport I got to see Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon and he was one of the top guys, that was years ago and he's slowly dropped from the top spots since then.

However he's got himself now his 12th Olympic medal (7th Gold I think) fair play to him.

What are the chances of somebody breaking the 2 minute mark this weekend then?

Listened to Radio LeMans last night they were explaining that the track has been resurfaced using the same materials used at Philip Island, which led to lap times dropping by about 4 seconds. It's going to take a lot of things to be perfect (you know, Mars needs to align with Jupiter kind of thin) but it's not out of the realms of possibility.

Looking forward to falling asleep and missing the last 4 hours.....like I did last year.

Good news, not as bad as first reported - Link

Quote :Meribel director Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte told RMC radio: "He fell at 11:07am (CET) while skiing off-piste at Meribel. He was wearing a helmet and banged against a rock.

"Emergency services intervened quickly, at 11:15am. He was airlifted to hospital at Moûtiers (about 15km) away. He was shocked, a bit shaken up but conscious.

"There's maybe a concussion but it's not very serious."

Quote from CSF :Allan McNish retires.

Booo.

Although to be fair, perfect time to retire. New rules requiring fuller comitment with the drivers and he's just won his first World Drivers Championship....only thing missing I think is the Daytona 24Hr, came 2nd a few times but don't think he won it.

The recent sackings show a number of issues within football at the moment.

The sacking of AVB has more to do with a conflict between the manager/coach and the Director of Football. Spurs have gone through 8 managers/head coach's in the past 12 years, the same period of time of having a DoF (I think, not been able to double check this as I'm at work and currently compiling this via a word document so it looks as if I'm doing work...god I'm bored.). Now that may not be that significant considering other clubs have gone through a similar amount of managers in a similar period of time, however the key telling point for me was the post match interview with AVB in which when asked if he was happy with his squad, he replied he was happy with our squad. Not I'm happy with my squad or I'm happy with the players I have chosen, but he was happy with our squad. If there are issues between the DoF and manager/head coach it's often the latter that leaves the club, the DoF has the chairmen's ear as it is his role to report on everyday going on's to the board. I'm not saying that's what happened at Spurs, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Steve Clarke's sacking, and in a way Owen Coyle's sacking at Wigan, highlights the next issue and that is fan pressure. It's a simple fact is that the majority, if not all, fans have knee jerk reactions. Some can see what they say at the heat of the moment was either ridiculous, stupid or downright moronic and retract those for a more sensible view, however there are a significant group in all supports which seem to carry on with those thoughts. For example, lets look at the amount of abuse aimed at Wenger at the start of the season, you had Arsenal fans climbing over themselves demanding the sacking of Wenger but these guys have gone very quiet recently. You can bet however that after the recent defeat to City they will have the bouncing, ready for another defeat so they can start again. Liverpool fans also last season had a vocal minority which were having a pop at Rodgers, however they have quietened down recently since Liverpool are doing pretty well at the moment. Football fans a fickle, but the only ones more fickle than fans are football chairmen who react to the loudest voices, sadly this is becoming or the more too common.

I'm seeing the same thing just now with my team Ross County, we had a fantastic season last year finishing in the top 6 at the first time of asking, however this season has been pretty tough. There have been calls from some demanding the manager to go......a manger who took us from the 2nd division to the top and in between got us to the Scottish Cup final beating Celtic on the way, yep sounds about right for the modern day fickle football fan. It's little wonder why the current state of football leaves me cold.

Quote from BlueFlame :If Suarez made the tackle Mirallas did then it would've been red for sure. Not sure what the first gif is even about. It's easy to stand on someones feet by mistake, i do it to my wife all the time and she doesn't jump around holding her foot like a pussy.

Never had studs come down on the top of your foot recently then???

Happened a couple days ago while playing, total accident but by Christ it hurt like hell.
